CONGRATULATIONS!The First SCT-ASUL OPENING – A HUGE SUCCESS!
November 10, 2012 A total of 16 SCT Alumni Batch Teams paraded in a not so glamorous but full of glare, fun and excitement opening day last Saturday, November 10, 2012. SCT Alumni Batches from the 80s, 90s and 2000s have packed the SCT San Lorenzo Gym and proudly bannered their respective batch names and logos as they were witnessed by spectators from the Siena Community and the alumni families as well. Leading the opening prayer was Sr. Caroline Capili, SCT Head of Institutional Affairs and followed by an inspirational opening message from the SCT President, Mo. Teresa Examen, O.P. The Interim SCT Alumni Association President, Mr. Billy Racho, being an alumna of SCT from Batch 87, also rendered an uplifting message to all his fellow alumni. A very energetic, lovely and forever young ladies from the Batch 88 Volleyball Team have performed their own rendition of GANGNAM STYLE to wow the crowds and brought the house down. The SCT Alumni Oath of Sportsmanship, as led by the ever young and full of vigour Mr. Victorino Luna, follows thereafter. Closing remarks was delivered by our flamboyant and dynamic SCT – ASUL League Commissioner, Engr. Reinerr Santos from SCT Batch 88, as he also called the presence of the Batch Team Coordinators in front, who in one way or the other, have helped this event to become a very successful one. Who says that age does matter… Well, in this game, the older Batch 89 beats the younger Batch 99 girls in a match up that had overruled expectations. 1st set was captured by the 89 Girls (25-20) as well as the second set (25-14), to bag their first win of the season. BASKETBALL GAME: SCT Batch 89 squandered an opportunity to overcome Batch 87, to taste their first loss of the season. SCT BATCH 87 proves to be a gang bang in the middle and perimeters as they demolished their younger counterpart with a convincing 76 to 69 victory. They have shown finesse and maturity as they cruised to their first win of the season. SCT Batch 89 have just tasted a lead in the latter part of the first quarter but SCT BATCH 87 proves to be a much systematized and better playing team. SCT Batch 87 led by as many as 15 points in the second, third and fourth quarter and never looked back. SCT Batch 87 were led by RANNIE MANUEL with a career best 26 points, Allan Lopez with 19 and Jenny Dolores with 11 points. Practice hard and have a well-organized system, BATCH 89! PEACE!! |
GAMES...GAMES...GAMES..First Game: SCT BATCH 88 gets the first Win of the Season! November 10, 2012
Getting the first notch at the winning column, Batch 88 proved that they are mightier over the SCT Faculty and Admin Team of Mr. Vic Luna. SCT Batch 88, who will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary next year, have won with a convincing 81 – 68 win over their opponent. League Commissioner Reinerr Santos scattered three 3-point bombs for the game and gathered a smashing 17 points for his team while Ulysses Portento was the team's Best Player for the day with 24 points. Skipper Jaylmer Jamora contributed 14 points. Congratulations SCT BATCH 88! Second Game: SCT BATCH 91 beats SCT BATCH 92; 58-48. A closely fought match from the 1st quarter to the third quarter, the SCT Batch 92 proves no match to SCT Batch 91 going to the 4th Quarter, as they were trounced to the tune 58 – 48. Bulky Rogel Alcoriza, had a sterling performance for the night with 14 points and proved to be a threat in the post and captured the BEST PLAYER OF THE GAME. Go, Go Go Batch 91! Third Game: SCT Batch 99 overpowered SCT Batch 95; 85 – 59. ANTHONY STA. ANA performed a season best 24 points and was named as the Best Player of the Game, as he carried his team to a very favourable win over SCT Batch 95 and captured their first win of the season with a very convincing 85 – 59 win. Ably helped by teammate DENNIS DELESI, the two have proved to be a threatening one-two punch of the team combining for a total of 37 points. Hotshot 3-Point shooter JOHN RAILY MANOSCA of Batch 95 scattered a career high five 3-pointers for a total of 26 points, but were not enough to singlehandedly carry his team to victory.
